The twelve full Moons of 2021 taken with a professional DSLR and a 1300mm lens. Each moon has been shot at its illumination peak during the full moon night from the latitude of approx. 45°N at UTC+1 (Central European Time).
Original surface colors have been slightly boosted to highlight mineral composition of lunar rocks. The different colors are recognized to correspond to real differences in the chemical composition of the lunar surface. Blue tones correspond to area rich in ilmenite, which contains iron, titanium and oxygen, mainly titanium, while the orange and purple colors show regions relatively poor in titanium and iron.
The actual illumination of each full moon at the time it was shot is:
- January (Wolf Moon) 100%
- February (Snow Moon) 99.8%
- March (Worm Moon) 100%
- April (Pink Moon) 98%
- May (Flower Moon) 99.8%
- June (Strawberry Moon) 99.9%
- July (Buck Moon) 99.9%
- August (Sturgeon Moon) 99.8%
- September (Harvest Moon) 100%
- October Hunter's Moon) 99.6%
- November (Beaver Moon) 99.8%
- December (Cold Moon) 100%
Style and Size
Paper prints are available on gloss Ultra HD paper Fuji Crystal Professional Archive Maxima.
For unframed prints on aluminium, UltraHD Photo Print is developed on the Fuji Crystal Professional Archive Maxima photo paper. The backing is 3 mm (1/8 in.) thick aluminum Dibond. A composite material with three layers, Dibond ensures maximum stability but weighs very little. Wall mount system is included.
ArtBox frame is made of glazed black aluminium 10 mm (0,39 in.) thick which leaves a small gap between the picture and the aluminium frame, making the image appear to be floating. Wall mount system is included.
For unframed prints, the image is printed right to the edge of the material and size refers to the exact product dimensions.
For ArtBox framed prints, the size refers to the actual image size. 1 cm (4/10 in.) more must be added each side to consider the frame.
